
Dr. Sarah Rigby is a registered Clinical Psychologist who has extensive experience with treating posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and operational stress injuries commonly experienced by first responders.
Her clinical approach is grounded in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and she provides evidence-based treatments for a range of concerns, including trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, adjustment difficulties, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), and substance use disorders. She is highly trained in a variety of CBT-based trauma interventions and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Dr. Rigby also provides comprehensive psychodiagnostic assessments to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
With a strong professional interest in promoting psychological well-being at the organizational level, Dr. Rigby designs and delivers tailored trainings for first responder agencies and professional teams, integrating current research and best practices in mental health and occupational wellness.
Dr. Rigby earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Manitoba and practices out of ALPHA Consulting & Clinical Services. She is passionate about working with first responder populations, including firefighters, paramedics, and police officers, as well as active and veteran members of the Canadian Armed Forces.
