Dr. David Podnar is a clinical psychologist in private practice, centrally located in Winnipeg’s River Heights area. He holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Western University and completed his residency in Clinical Health Psychology at the University of Manitoba. Before transitioning to private practice, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Health Psychology and spent nearly a decade at the Winnipeg OSI Clinic, specializing in assessing and treating veterans, active military members, and RCMP officers. He has also worked with first responders, healthcare professionals, teachers, and individuals facing complex psychological challenges.

Dr. Podnar provides therapy for PTSD, trauma-related disorders, anxiety, depression, workplace burnout, sleep difficulties, grief, self-esteem issues, and interpersonal challenges. His approach is client-centered, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). He also specializes in trauma-focused treatments, including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Prolonged Exposure (PE). By tailoring therapy to each client’s needs, he works to ensure meaningful progress. Sessions are available in person or virtually via phone or Zoom.
